Health Policy:

We test all breeders for over 40 genetic diseases, blood type, genetics diversity, and over 20 traits including coat colors, coat types, and morphology. This includes PKD and HCM which are occasionally seen in British Shorthair cats. New cats to our program are evaluated during a 4 week quarantine period to rule out parasites and infectious diseases like FIV and FeLV. We also go above the minimum and test our adult cats for HCM with the gold standard, an Echocardiogram, with a board certified veterinary cardiologist. We do this test at least every 18 months on breeding adults as heart issues like HCM can appear at later ages.
