We are dog breeders of AKC golden retrievers with over 47 years of experience. Picture Picture Picture At Pine Trace Gold, we have a limited number of litters to not be overwhelmed and give the pups the time and attention they deserve. We offer a 1 year life threatening, congenital defects warranty on all of our pups as we are confident in the quality of our breeding. We breed for very versatile, people-oriented dogs. All pups are born in and reside in the house. As such they are well socialized to the cats as well as non mom adults (p.s. the cat is boss). Our pups are handled every day of their lives, not just a quick hug but exposed to a wide variety of early stimulation - tactile and auditory. They get the inside of their mouths touched - a tickle in the ear - belly rubs - feet handled. A radio turned to a talk or classical station is on nearby. They will hear some firecrackers at a safe distance a few times to help alleviate fears from thunder or backfire later. The cat likes to sleep and wrestle with pups also! Temperament needs to be first and foremost, however, what good is a gorgeous dog if it is poorly bred and may suffer from a plethora of health problems? We believe a dog should maintain a proper look without neglecting health concerns. All our breeding dogs and or their parents are cleared for hip concerns on the larger dogs and patellas on the smaller ones by Orthopedic foundation for animals exam via x-ray. All of our dogs are DNA checked: heart, eyes. bleeding disorders, good bites (correct teeth placement) and much more. We try to ensure the parents are the best all round dogs to create the next generation for you and your family.
