Healthy Homemade Chicken & Veggie Slow Cooker Dog Food
Treat your pup to a healthy and homemade meal with this easy slow cooker recipe. Made with chicken, veggies, and love, it's perfect for small dogs and dogs with sensitive stomachs.
Ingredients
Chicken Breasts (boneless, skinless) - 2
Chicken Thighs (bone-in, skinless) - 2
Peas - 1cup
Apple - 1
Carrots - 2
Kidney Beans - 1cup
Green Beans - 1cup
Sweet Potato - 1
Olive oil - 1tsp
Water (adjust as needed)
Instructions
Place the boneless, skinless chicken thighs and breasts in the slow cooker.
Add enough water to the slow cooker to just cover the chicken.
Prepare the ingredients: Peel and chop the sweet potato. Core and chop the apple. Peel and chop the carrots. Drain and rinse the kidney beans.
Add the prepared sweet potato, apple, carrots, kidney beans, and frozen green beans to the slow cooker.
Cook on low heat for 8-9 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together.
When the cooking time is almost finished, add the peas and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
Drain off any excess liquid from the slow cooker.
Add olive oil to the slow cooker and gently mash the ingredients together using a fork or potato masher.
